Great app, with interesting stories and current affairs content

Great content, terrible app. The stories are slow to load, and often won't load at all. The 'Read' tab leads with podcasts, which you cleave to scroll through to get to written content. The podcast player is pretty good, but if you don't listen all the way to the end of an episode it sits at the bottom of the screen, and you can't close it. If there is a way to turn off/control notifications, I can't find it. Overall, it's easier to use the website.

They don't publish journalism, they publish propaganda. The people calling it "great news" are the choir it's preaching to. If you value objective and unbiased reporting, avoid this app like the plague.

Used the app for 5 minutes before being outraged at how mean it is. I had heard online that this app was awful towards disabled and trans people. Decided to see for myself. It took only 5 minutes to see conditions I have being spoken over and my right to exist being debated by people who don't have said conditions. It's not news, it's opinion pieces and podcasts from awful people.

Love the content from tortoise. However, the app is nearly unusable. Stories don't load and when they rarely start appearing, it soon goes back to normal and doesn't work.
