There is no "game" here besides tapping food for the Magikarp. Training, and the main "battle" of having the Magikarp jump vs another Magikarp are all down through dialogue boxes.

The amount of unskippable repetitive scenes, especially between generations is ridiculous and so much more time-consuming than it has to be. Also, the number of small animations that have to play out before the continue button is actually clickable. If you got coins the animation needs to play out before you can click continue. If you got JP, same thing. You need to finish eating every food you clicked on before you can train, or go to the store, or anything. It's small but it adds up.
