Actually works. Actually accurate. But order the 27 dollar diffuser accessory. Sounds silly, but it's legitimate and literally causes my Samsung A52 mid-range phone to consistently give me PPFD and DLI readings that confirm my LEDs manufacturers light tests to be accurate! This is the only legitimate par meter app that is not a silly app compared to a 600 dollar apogee part meter. This is not as proficient as apogee obviously but even apogee instruments Founder vouches for the efficiency!

Amazing support, ready to help and really research if there is an issue. I used photon on my old grow lights and could space my plants much better, also discover better window placement. Got a new grow light and the readings were well off, found out issue was my cheap old phone that couldn't handle the new type of lights. Once I got a family member to test the app on their device all issues were resolved. Very happy with the app.

Update ruined the entire experience. Forces you to use a piece of paper for the same accuracy as prior to when one wasn't required. However, every paper I've tried is different texture, thickness etc. and gives different readings. And the app bugs out and tells me I need a paper defuser when one is already attached. It's all way more inconsistent with no way to switch back to the older version which was way more dependable. I guess they want me to buy their third party diffuser, but I'll just delete.

App shows absurdly incorrect values on a bright light. Even when using with a paper diffuser, does not show realistic values. Not recommended, sorry.

The camera was facing the wrong way and there's no way to change it

My device does not have a factory calibration, and calibrating it myself seems to require purchasing other equipment. In order to use this app to measure light, I'll have to buy other equipment that measures light. Redundant.
