KakaoMap - Map / Navigation

★★★★★ Kakao map is an indispensable tool in South Korea. Even for English speakers it is very easy to use. I use it all the time for both public transportation and the GPS on my motorcycle.

★★★★★ Good, but only gripe is that places are hard to use English to find. Need to find places with Korean or Address

★★★★★ Super great navigation app! I was in seoul for only a week, and this app was such a lifesaver, helping me get around the subways, find museums/national monuments, and just explore my surroundings. If you don't know how to read hangul, then I'd recommend you find a different app that can translate things into english. But if you can read hangul and want to challenge your understanding, then this app is the best!! ^__^

★★☆☆☆ If you check my edit history this was originally 5 stars with a glowing review but as always they ruined their own app. Uninstalling and sticking with Google Maps which never has issues and always works. They messed up the app so IT NO LONGER SHOWS WHERE YOU ARE ON THE MAP in real time while trying to navigate to a place! Ruins the whole point of the app! 🤣🤡 Finishing my journey using Google Maps to track my progress with no issues and sticking with that app from now on.

★★☆☆☆ App isn't very English friendly. I need to use Google Maps to search for things then copy and paste into this app for Navi. Search sometimes doesn't seem to work as well vs. gmaps, but I don't read/speak Korean, so maybe I'm using it wrong? Navi is better than gmaps in terms of finding routes, but a little stressful. I.e. nav instructions of subway/bus stations is only written in KR, but are in EN on the map, so I switch between views and rely on GPS positioning.
