Very useful tool when all you need is to know times and temperatures for specific food types. It's by far the best sousvide app available.

I've been using the device for 4 years and the software has gotten progressively worse. I have 2 Joules and neither will maintain a connection for longer than a few minutes. When they lose connection they also turn themselves off. What used to be a hands-off process now requires me to essentially sit close by to watch a slow cooker.

This app is garbage, and is the one factor that makes me wary of recommending a joule sous vide to friends and family. It has terrible connectivity issues, and no matter what I try, I can't get it to connect to Wi-Fi (no other devices or apps have this issue in my home), so I have to be within Bluetooth range to check the temp, how long the cook has been going, etc. The interface also puts preset recommendations ahead of the basic interface to set temp and time, which was annoying at first.

The joule device is great, but this app is really awful in terms of connecting to and remaining connected to the joule device. I can't think of a time when I didn't have to kill the app and relaunch it to get it to connect to the device as to see current temp or time elapse. It will often report that there's no available internet connection when in fact there is. The recipes and instructions within the app are useful especially as you're learning the sous vide process.
