This is a faithful recreation of an awesome historic board game! Very user-friendly interface, and faithful to the rules of the game as observed by Linnaeus' latin rules, transcribed in antiquity (17-18th century?) and digitized/uploaded in 2010. Many have tried and failed to re-create this Viking game for our 21st century. With many variants available, as well as a custom mode to completely tailor the rules to your preferences, along with an ELO ratings system, makes this the best tafl app!

This is a fantastic implementation of Hnefatafl, offered at a fair one-time purchase price. It comes with lots of rule variants for different player strengths and tutorials for each of them. Nevertheless, this is a game at least as challenging and complex as Chess, so a list of strategy guides in several languages with links in the 'About' section (or wherever there is a good place for a resource list) would be kind. The computer opponent should be improved continuously and add some more themes.

Sells your financial info. There is no reason this app should even access any of your data. Edit for reply to dev: In the data safety section. It says "This app shares the following info with third parties: Location (approximate), Financial info (purchase history), and Messages (in game messages)" The app looks nice and all but I just don't understand why a game would share or have access to some of that info.
★★☆☆☆
Kinda hard to enjoy the game when it doesn't actually play by the rules. Pin an opponent against the wall, and you take the opponent. It can and will do it to YOU, but if you do it to the AI you don't get to take the piece. So dumb. I still win 90% of the time, but it's getting annoying. Fix your coding.

The issue I have straight away is that in this app the king is captured by two pieces (like any of the warrior pieces). Every set of rules I've read the king must be captured by surround all 4 sides.
★★☆☆☆
The developers do NOT know how tafl is played. A king must be captured from 4 sides for the attacker to win. Once the king reaches a corner, that side wins. This game allows a king to be captured from only 2 sides, and does not allow the kings side to win once a corner is obtained. Translation... This is NOT tafl.
