I just bought a Hi Sense Portable A/C unit. It was advertised as having Wi-Fi connectivity but nowhere in the manuals were any connection instructions or name of a phone app. I found this one but in the end found out this app is not the correct app. Look for Connect Life app for doing Hi Sense controls. It appears this Hi-Smart AC app was last updated in 2019. Old, buggy, and useless.

Asks for permissions to access basically everything on your phone, including media! Why does my AIR CONDITIONER need access to my photos? Then after you go through all the nonsense and sign your life and information away to a Chinese company, the app doesn't even work. I follow every step of the instructions--AC, phone, and router are in the same room--and still it refuses to connect. "Device is not connected to cloud" after every attempt to link phone and AC. Uninstalled all Hi sense apps and returning this overpriced garbage to the store.
