GPS Alarm/ Location Alarm

★★★★★ This app has two features that are very hard to find in location alert apps: text-to-speech and a location radius that can be typed in as opposed to using a slider. The text-to-speech is extremely important, because it is dangerous to look at a screen very often when driving. The direct entry of the radius is great, too, because sliders are very hard to get exact. This exactness is helpful, because you can set each zone to the same radius, so that you know when it triggers, you know how far you are from your target. I use it when I travel as a reminder of when I am NEAR a place, but may or may not necessarily stop there. This is useful for rest stops, restaurants, gas stations, or other POI's. This is a feature that should be built into GPS programs, but often isn't, so I run it simultaneously with my GPS. I will say that sometimes the text-to-speech will keep calling out information, but it usually stops after you pass through the zone. Also, more than 10 locations would be handy, but most of the time it's adequate. And, Imperial/US units as well as metric would be nice, too. I have found, though, that I can always count on it kicking in when it's supposed to, and that's what's most important to me, so I was very glad to have discovered this app.
