I have been using the Equiwatt app to help reduce the need for dirty fossil fuel power being needed at peak times while being rewarded with points to turn into real-world prizes. A bit pointless investing in a KASA plug, as this option is rarely used. Most equivalents are now done through the Smart meter, but the way points are awarded seems to be rather hit-and-miss. Ref your comment, scheduled equivalents are via the Smart meter, and non-scheduled (instant) equivalents through the KASA plug, therefore factually incorrect. However, it seems this is not the case now as recent non-scheduled events, hence a waste of time and money. Our house takes part, and I use the app.

52 events to-date. Obtained a Kassa plug for my freezer with energy monitoring. For many, many months I got 42 points represents average of 150 Watt hour Now apparently between 9th June 22nd June the average has dropped to 26WH, summer my freezer is on most of the day Equiwatt stated my 35+ year old freezer was running on economy mode, really? Old freezers are on or off Equiwatt team have excuse after excuse, no data verification available They mentioned my account deletion Forum posts deleted
