Eclipse Droid was the perfect tool for the Great Eclipse this past August! The app's scripting and tethering capabilities enabled me to take a more precise and thorough sequence of photos than I would have been able to do manually, allowing me to sit back and enjoy my first total solar eclipse rather than fiddling with camera controls. Eclipse Droid pinpointed my location, and the eclipse timing was spot on. My photos turned out wonderfully! // While testing Eclipse Droid I discovered that its scripting syntax was limited to 1 photo every 1 second (per device). Even so, my camera would only actually take a photo every *2* seconds (despite being able to manually take rapid sequences of photos). This may have been due to having an older camera (~2010) with a slow tethering interface. I revised my Eclipse Droid script accordingly, scripting a photo every 2 seconds. I will definitely be using Eclipse Droid again in 2024! // Eclipse Droid USB 7.2.3 // Samsung Galaxy Note 4 // Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) // Nikon D90 // Tethering hardware: USB OTG (On The Go) adapter + mini USB cable // Tripod: Yes // Equatorial mount with motor drive: No // Eclipse 2017 viewing location: Albany, OR

App seems confused about date of eclipse

I like this app, worked wonderfully on my S8+ since 2015. It does work sort of on my s24ultra but keeps asking for permissions and won't store configurations. I can't trust it to work on the day, or I would give 5 stars. It needs to be updated or a fix detailed.
★★☆☆☆
Great for what I need, I love the idea of this program. However, it crashes whenever I connect via my Note 10.1 to a Canon 60D. Hoping for a fix before the next eclipse on Nov 3. Update: Setting USB Debugging to On in Developer Settings seems to have fixed the problem.
