I'm giving this ap 4 stars for one reason: it works fine but installation (initial pairing between phone & output unit) is very difficult & cumbersome. The professional Daikin installer told me that he'd tried it on his own Daikin Heat Pump & he saud... "I'll just leave you to sort that out". (Not exactly an inspiring comment to hear - given that the retrofit me Remote units came with a hefty $300 price tag!) After spending several hours getting the system to work, I'm pleased that it works!

Supported in Google Assistant and Alexa, but control via app is limited so full control is either through voice command or via the display hubs, which is weird. Response is almost immediate though via app or the hubs. Initial set up is primitive and the AP mode cannot be turned off even after the units are connected to the Wi-Fi network causing unnecessary interference. There's a separate mode for in and out of home but with the assistants' integration, you won't need that. Not when it is slow too.

Easy to control multiple aircons. Interesting "travel" move when schedules are disabled. I wish it was a bit faster to load and the process of connecting to new aircons was a bit easier. Overall I'm quite happy with the experience

Since last update the app is unusable. Every time I open loads for ages saying "logging into out of home server". One AC unit disconnected from the app (which it won't allow me to delete) but then added as a duplicate unit, but won't connect to Google Home. Google voice integration works but the only AC option for these devices in the Google Home app is switching On and Off, which is useless. AC units were only installed 2 months ago, and I'm already regretting buying this brand.

Daikin ships new model Alira X with obsolete firmware 1.13.0 2022 ! On May 2024 needing a reset and manual configuration to reach the download firmware screen on Android versions - otherwise "adapter not found" Ps 1st Download / upgrade failed, second one got it to 2.8. No normal older person without networking /computer skills can get this to work. X2 problems are Daikin shipping way out of date firmware. 2nd The Android app going through manual set-up to maybe succeed at a firmware update!
