Busuu: Learn & Speak Languages

★★★★★ The app is very fun especially when learning Korean. But I find learning French is a little bit more difficult because I feel like the app expects us to remember the word in a second (not literally lol) But overall the app is really good, and it's waylay better than duolingo. And the premium doesn't cost alot, but you really do not need it to use the app. They have different games I. this app, so you won't get bored at all.

★★★★★ Using this app has been such a positive experience towards proving my language learning. There is a social component to the app. You can correct or comment on other people's translations, and they can do the same for yours. Short Grammer lessons are incorporated into the material well. Overall, Busuu is effective for me because it relies less on "gamifying" things and more on ACTUAL language learning. I'm happy to pay the annual subscription.

★★☆☆☆ Previously rated these 5 stars but now, after months of studying, Latin American Spanish is suddenly a premium feature and I can't even access the lessons I've done previously. This is absurd, this isn't a special course like the manga one for Japanese, this is a form of Spanish spoken by around 91% of all native Spanish speakers and that is far more relevant to a lot of learners than dialects from Spain. I live around Mexican immigrants, I need to know the Spanish THEY speak.

★★☆☆☆ App has so much potential, but it's just badly done (I know that sounds weird) I'm Irish and in school we never properly learn the names of regular or irregular verbs, present participle adverbs, ordinal numbers, etc. and we can speak fluently. Because you don't need to know the names of the verbs to use them. Also questions like "a synonym for frequently" if I'm learning a language and I know "frecuentemente" I can use that so why would I need to know a synonym of it?! I won't renew membership.

★★☆☆☆ It's easy to memorize the language I'm learning, but now I also want to learn Chinese because I have Chinese friends and I just did my first lesson, NOW THE APP LITERRALY MADE ALL THE REST OF THE LESSONS PREMIUM THAT'S NOT NICE I am not going to pay a single penny from now on, just one lesson and already want money?! Serious how am I going to learn Russian and go on a trip there thus app used to be great, and now it's money greedy and don't even think of suggesting me to buy premium 😡
